At FormatForge, we take your privacy and data security seriously. This Privacy Policy document describes the types of information we do (and do not) collect when you visit and use our web application located at format-forge.com.

1. 100% Client-Side Processing

Unlike traditional online formatting and validation tools, FormatForge operates entirely in your web browser. When you paste JSON, XML, YAML, SQL, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, or other text payloads into our editors:

  • No transmission: Your code, files, parameters, or configurations are never sent over the network or transmitted to our servers.
  • No databases: We do not operate any backend databases or storage systems that store your input or output data.
  • Runs offline: Because all computational tasks run locally using your browser's JavaScript engine, you can disconnect from the internet and the tools will continue to work perfectly.

2. Information We Collect

Because FormatForge runs client-side, our server does not log or collect any code datasets. The only minimal data interactions are:

a. Local Storage

We use your browser's local storage (localStorage) to save your preferences, such as your selected user interface theme (Light or Dark mode). This storage remains locally on your device and is never sent to our servers.

b. Standard Server Log Files

Like most website hosting infrastructures, our hosting providers may automatically record standard server log details when you load the static assets of the website. This metadata includes anonymous information such as your IP address, browser type, referring pages, and timestamp. This is purely used for general server performance monitoring and website delivery optimization.

3. Cookies

FormatForge does not set tracking cookies or sell your personal browsing information. We do not integrate complex third-party tracking services or data brokers.

4. Contact Information and Feedback

If you voluntarily contact us via our Contact form or through our support email address, we will receive the name, email address, and message contents you provide. We only use this information to respond to your inquiries, bug reports, and suggestions. We will never share or sell your contact information to third parties.

5. Changes to This Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect modifications in our tooling structure or services. Any updates will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
